1. Core Commitment: 100% Client-Side Local Privacy

ExtremeApply AI was engineered with a strict Privacy-First architecture. We believe job seekers should have full control and total privacy over their personal information, employment history, and career documents.

• Zero Remote Data Collection: We do not collect, store, transmit, or monitor your personal data on any external servers.
• No Data Monetization: We do not sell, rent, license, or monetize your resume, profile, or application responses to recruiters, data brokers, advertisers, or third parties. Ever.
• Zero Telemetry or Analytics: ExtremeApply AI contains no tracking pixels, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, and no background tracking scripts.

2. Information Handled by the Extension

All information entered into ExtremeApply AI is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's secure storage API (chrome.storage.sync & chrome.storage.local):

1. Personal & Contact Details: First name, last name, full name, email, telephone number, address, city, state, postal code, and country.
2. Professional Experience & Links: Job title, company name, years of experience, LinkedIn profile, GitHub profile, personal portfolio website, and social links.
3. Education & Skills: Highest degree earned, educational institutions attended, major/field of study, graduation year, and technical skills.
4. Work Authorization & Legal Disclosures: Voluntary responses regarding work authorization status, visa sponsorship requirements, and standard Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) responses.
5. Job Application Tracking: Company name, job title, ATS platform, application submission date, and listing URL (stored strictly in local storage).
6. AI API Keys (Optional): If you choose to configure a Google Gemini or OpenAI API key, that key is stored locally in your browser storage and is only transmitted directly to the respective API endpoint via secure HTTPS when you trigger an AI text generation request.

3. Chrome Permissions & Why We Need Them

In compliance with Google Chrome Web Store Developer Policies, ExtremeApply AI requests only the minimal permissions required to function:

• storage: Used to save your job application profile, user preferences, application tracker history, and total auto-filled counter locally in your browser.
• activeTab: Allows the extension to interact with the active job application tab when you click the extension popup or trigger the auto-fill command.
• tabs: Used to detect the current job application URL and query the active tab when initiating the auto-fill routine.
• scripting: Required to execute DOM input population routines on dynamic job application pages.
• contextMenus: Enables the right-click menu shortcut "⚡ Auto-Fill Application (ExtremeApply AI)" for fast access.
• host_permissions: Explicitly targeted match patterns for job application platforms (e.g., *.myworkdayjobs.com, boards.greenhouse.io, jobs.lever.co, *.linkedin.com, etc.) to detect form fields and populate candidate applications without needing broad access to unrelated sites.

4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features

ExtremeApply AI provides three options for AI-assisted writing (cover letters and screening responses):

1. Local Smart Template Synthesizer (Default): Runs 100% offline within the extension sandbox. No internet requests or third-party servers are involved.
2. Google Gemini API (Optional BYOK): If you provide your own Google Gemini API key, prompt queries are transmitted directly to https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com via encrypted HTTPS. Google's privacy policy applies to those API requests.
3. OpenAI API (Optional BYOK): If you provide your own OpenAI API key, prompt queries are transmitted directly to https://api.openai.com via encrypted HTTPS. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to those API requests.

ExtremeApply AI never proxies or intercepts your API keys or queries.

5. Data Retention, Backup, and Deletion

• Data Export: You can export your entire profile at any time into a human-readable JSON file via the options page.
• Instant Deletion: You can erase all stored data by clicking "Reset Profile & Clear All Data" in the options page, or by uninstalling the extension from your browser.
